Dianne Evelyn Wiest (born March 28, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA) is an American actress. She has received two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her performances in Woody Allen’s Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and Bullets Over Broadway (1994). For Bullets Over Broadway she also won a Golden Globe Award. Wiest earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Road to Avonlea in 1997 and another Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for In Treatment in 2008. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in Parenthood (1989). Film credits include Footloose (1984), The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), Radio Days (1987) and September.
