Demi Lovato, also known as Demetria Devonne Lovato, is an American actor, singer-songwriter, and musician born on August 20, 1992, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their earliest acting roles included a part on Barney & Friends. They later became better known for starring in the Camp Rock movies, portraying Sonny Munroe in Sonny with a Chance, and starring in the 2009 movie Princess Protection Program. In addition to acting and music, Lovato is involved in philanthropic activities through charity work and various social and environmental causes. As a solo musical artist, Lovato released their debut album, Don't Forget, on September 23, 2008. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling 89,000 copies in its first week and later surpassing 500,000 records sold in the United States.
