Deanna Dunagan is an American actress born on May 25, 1940, in Monahans, Texas. While principally active as a stage actress, she has also worked in television and film. She is best known for her Tony Award-winning portrayal of Violet Weston in Tracy Letts play August: Osage County and for her portrayal of Nana in the 2015 film The Visit, directed by M. Night Shyamalan. On television, she has appeared in recurring roles as Mother Bernadette on the Fox series The Exorcist and as Mrs. Charles on Chicago Med. Her other film credits include portraying Dr. Willa Sipe in the 2018 film An Acceptable Loss, written by Joe Chappelle, and starring as Sharon in the 2021 film Stillwater, alongside Matt Damon and Abigail Breslin.
