David Samuel Goyer is an American filmmaker, novelist, and comic book writer born on December 22, 1965, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is known for writing screenplays and stories for several superhero films, including Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Blade trilogy, Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In addition to writing, he has directed four films: Zig Zag, Blade: Trinity, The Invisible, and The Unborn. He is also the creator of the science fiction television series Foundation, which is loosely based on the Foundation series written by Isaac Asimov. Furthermore, he was a co-writer of the video games Call of Duty.
