Damian Lewis is an English actor and producer born on February 11, 1971. He is known for starring as Detective Charlie Crews in the NBC drama Life and portraying Major Richard Winters in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. Lewis is also recognized for his roles as Soames Forsyte in The Forsyte Saga, Sergeant Nicholas Brody in Homeland, and King Henry VIII in Wolf Hall. He has a distinctive trademark of red hair and is capable of delivering an impeccable American accent. Lewis was raised in London and comes from an upper-class background.
