Caroline Blakiston is an English actress born on February 13, 1933, in Chelsea, London, England, UK. Her parents were the archivist and author Hugh Noel Blakiston and Georgiana. She is best known for her television role in the comedy series Brass and for appearing as Mon Mothma in the science fiction film Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. During the 1960s, she appeared in three episodes of The Avengers and ITC productions including The Saint and the 1969 Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) episode Never Trust a Ghost. In 1967, she appeared as Marjorie Ferrar in the BBC Television adaptation of The Forsyte Saga. Her later television credits include Raffles, Murder Most English, and playing Bess Sedgwic in 1986.

Additionally, Blakiston had early contacts with Russian theater circles in the 1980s and, in 1991, she became the first British actress to appear in a production of a Chekhov play in Russia, performing in the comedy The Cherry Orchard.
