Brenda Fricker was an Irish actress born in Dublin on February 17, 1945. Her professional life spanned six decades, during which she established herself as a prominent figure in both film and television. Fricker achieved significant international recognition in 1990 when she became the first Irish actress to win an Academy Award, receiving the honor for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1989 biopic My Left Foot.
