Ashton Chen, also known by the stage name Shi Xiaolong, is a Chinese actor and martial artist born on January 6, 1988, in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. He is a disciple of Shi Yongxin, the current abbot of the Shaolin Temple, having begun his training under the abbot and his father at the age of two. The abbot bestowed upon him the dharma name Shi Xiaolong, replacing his birth name, Chen Xiaolong. Chen is recognized for his extensive career in the entertainment industry, which spans 82 known credits as an actor. He is a prominent figure in Chinese cinema, known for his early start as a child performer and his lifelong dedication to martial arts.
