Biography
Ann Blyth was an American actress and singer born on August 16, 1927, in Mount Kisco, New York. She began her career as a child in radio before transitioning to Broadway. Blyth gained significant recognition for her performance as Veda Pierce in the 1945 film Mildred Pierce, a role that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress at age 17. Throughout her career, she appeared in both dramatic roles and Hollywood musicals, notably performing alongside Mario Lanza and Howard Keel in MGM productions during the 1950s. Blyth died on June 24, 2026, at the age of 98. Her work is characterized by her early success in dramatic film and her later musical career.
