Biography
Andy Clyde was a Scottish-born American film and television actor. He began his career in silent films in 1921, debuting in On a Summer Day. Clyde was the son of a theatrical actor, producer, and manager. He was part of a family of actors, with his brother David and sister Jean also working in the screen industry. Clyde is known for starring in 79 comedy shorts for Columbia Pictures from 1934-1956. He also appeared in the role of a farmer in a CBS television series, and played California Carlson in the Hopalong Cassidy movie series. Clyde's acting career spanned approximately 45 years.
