Biography
Andrew Russell Garfield, born August 20, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, is an English and American actor. He moved to Surrey, U.K., at age three and was raised in a multicultural household with English and Polish Jewish heritage. Garfield began his career on the West End stage and in British television. His breakout roles included a juvenile convict in the television film Boy A (2007) and Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network (2010). He gained international recognition for portraying Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). Known for his emotional depth, Garfield has worked across genres, from superhero films to musicals and independent cinema. His accolades include a Tony Award, a British Academy Television Award, and a Golden Globe Award, with nominations for two Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in 2022.
