Jagex released a new blog going over potential megarares and rewards from Raids 4: The Fractured Archive. They are really struggling to come up with impactful and powerful rewards that don’t also invalidate old content, like the T-bow shadow or scythe. Megarares in Runescape add a ton of balancing problems that make it difficult to add new items to the game, as well as potentially invalidating entire past raids (like we’ve seen happen with a lot of items from theatre of blood). This is a very tough problem to solve and no matter what they do someone somewhere will not like exactly what they came up with.
