In another development related to the incident, talking to Dan Viet this afternoon (January 17), Ms. Truong Ngoc Lan – Deputy Director of Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center said:
“In the near future, we will convene a meeting between all parties including department leaders, coaches, athletes, athletes’ parents… to clarify issues related to the case of athlete Pham Nhu Phuong “accusing” coach Nguyen Thuy Duong collects “waste” money from athletes.
Our point of view is not to cover it up, because this is a very sad incident that affects the image of the industry. The incident also shook the trust of parents, so it must be clarified and transparent.
After clarifying everything, the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center will report to the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Department of Sports and Training.”
