This week, the legendary “Queen of Latin Pop,” Gloria Estefan, marks her 50th anniversary in the music industry with the release of her 27th studio album. (10)
VO: Skyscraper Salute
In honor of Estefan’s half-century milestone, the City of Miami is lighting-up a skyscraper salute to the nine-time Grammy Award Winner. (18)
It is at the 60-story Paramount Miami Worldcenter.
The superstructure is glowing with the World’s Tallest Digital portrait of Estefan overlooking her hometown of Miami. (29)
VO: Moving Mosaic
The 700-foot-tall, 300-foot-in-diameter image then morphs into a massive moving mosaic of Estefan’s facial cameo, which can be seen for miles. (40)

The building then transitions into a collage of disco dancers symbolizing Estefan’s ascent to fame during the 1970’s and 1980’s. (47)
That’s when the “Miami Sound Machine,” founded by Gloria Estefan and husband Emilio Estefan, topped the record charts for 15 years.

VO: Lighting System Facts
“The Paramount Miami Worldcenter is the 10th tallest building south of New York City,” explains Daniel Kodsi, the building’s developer and CEO of the Royal Palm Companies.
“Paramount features a highly-advanced L.E.D. lighting system, which costs $3-million, and took three-years for a team of 12 technicians to design and install,” says Kodsi.
He continues, “The system is composed of five-miles of wire, connecting 13,400 light-emitting-diodes, which are embedded in 10,000 window frames.”
The lighting system can compose a combination of 16-million colors, according to Kodsi.
The nightly electrical utility bill is about $34.00.

The skyscraper lights-up at the top and bottom of every hour, for a duration of five-minutes, from 8:00 p.m. through Midnight, now through June 2, 2025.
