Leaving her rented house in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Khanh Linh faced the bitter cold even though she was wearing many layers of clothing. “The winter here is cold and dark. The Netherlands is only beautiful in the summer” is a half-joking, half-truth statement by Khanh Linh when asked about the environment she lives in.
7 years ago, Le Kieu Khanh Linh (born 1994, Hanoi) suddenly received a lot of attention from the online community when she temporarily put away her excellent degree from Foreign Trade University (Hanoi) and went to Korea to study for a master’s degree in chess. fin.
She was the first Vietnamese female student to be awarded a scholarship in Go from Myongji University, Korea. At that time, this field of study was still quite vague to many people.
It’s still Linh with bright eyes and a cute, attentive look, but now, she has many changes as she has long hair and gets used to a new job. In particular, she just graduated from the MBA course (Master of Business Administration – master of business administration) at the University of Amsterdam.

One college degree, two master’s degrees and big dreams
Khanh Linh currently works in a trading company in the Netherlands. This is a completely new field for Linh and she is finding it interesting to learn about.
“Currently, I don’t do anything directly related to Go. Occasionally, I participate in a few small, insignificant projects.
When meeting me, many people often talk about Go masters, even in Korea or the Netherlands. I feel like people use that as their identity (laughs). I found it quite happy and interesting to see their reactions,” Khanh Linh told reporters Dan Tri .
Talking about the reason for choosing to study MBA, the Hanoi girl said she wanted to hone her leadership skills, increase her understanding of international business and expand her relationships. Those are all the factors she needs to master before realizing her own big dream.
For a long time, Linh has always cherished the plan of establishing her own company. She is still in the process of researching the field she wants to pursue.
At the age of 29, Linh still perseveres on the journey of discovering new things, living her youth to the fullest and constantly developing herself. Those were the arguments Linh relied on to convince her parents to let her study for a master’s degree in Go.
Linh fell in love with Go in 5th grade after reading a series of books. From the joy of seeing people sit and play chess, she becomes more passionate every day. This intellectual sport has trained Linh to concentrate, increase her memory as well as make more friends.
At the present time, the values from this subject still accompany Linh throughout the journey of conquering her goal. 7 years ago, she changed direction to her parents’ surprise. Now, she is still the same. She believes that everyone has their own goals. When she sees that she has “enough” harvest, she will build her dream.
Enjoying modeling work
Despite her busy schedule, Khanh Linh always tries to find time to accept invitations to participate as a model for projects she likes. With a height of 1.76m and impressive fashion sense, she quickly integrated into this environment.
While studying in the land of kimchi, Linh also worked many times as a model. She got acquainted with this field through introductions or went to castings (selection process) herself.
She confided: “I’m not a professional model, I just want to do it because I like it. Therefore, I don’t have much pressure. The journey of self-discovery also left me with many memories, from shaving half eyebrows to super silly bangs.
Sometimes, I get scratches and peeling skin. But basically, I’m happy to do this job. I like to challenge myself and see my image in different characters.”
Diverse is an adjective that many people use to briefly describe Linh. This also coincides with Linh’s use of the word “lissome” (flexible) when talking about her style. She always wants to coordinate clothes in her own way, creating a feeling of freedom, grace, and not following a fixed pattern. She chooses to dress according to her mood.
When “her legs still don’t feel tired”, Khanh Linh faces new worries from her parents. They want to start a family and settle down.
“Everyone urged me to get married. I even urged myself,” the female master said, laughing.
With Linh, she sees everything in a positive way. When asked about the trend of modern women preferring to develop their careers and be independent, she said: “As long as people are happy with that choice, that’s okay.”
Through her time traveling to many places and studying at different schools, Linh found herself receiving countless valuable things. Linh in the present is very different from the short-haired girl who suddenly left her family’s arms to go to a foreign country after graduating from university.
The rubbing process made her more confident. Above all, she said, her knowledge has expanded in many directions. Not only academically, she also received cultural knowledge of how to deal with people from different backgrounds.
Khanh Linh has participated in 3 national Go tournaments and one international tournament. She ranked 9th at the 2013 national tournament (Photo: NVCC).
