My Uyen (born in 1975) graduated from Ho Chi Minh City College of Theater and Cinema. She started working in the arts in 1994 and had her first role in a movie Land of love and life.
From a young age, My Uyen loved singing and dancing, so she often went to watch her aunts, uncles and siblings perform. Although the direction was to follow economics, the artistic path attracted My Uyen and she then entered theater school. In 1996, she graduated from Ho Chi Minh City College of Theater and Cinema.

After graduating, she was invited by People’s Artist Hong Van to join artist Phuoc Sang’s stage, and then she and the troupe went on shows everywhere, performing short plays, long plays, and even performing comedy. Thanks to that time, she gained a lot of experience on stage and created the name she has today.
Some time later, she moved to work at the 5B Small Stage Drama Theater. Her first role on this stage was the role of a slave in the play The fox and the grapes. Some time later, she also worked at Phu Nhuan Stage for a while, but then she decided to stick with the small stage 5B until now.

With her talent, she has composed about 15 plays and thanks to that, she was appointed to the Board of Directors by the Board of Directors. She was also the main actress in most plays of the 5B Small Theater Theater such as: Diem’s story; Cohabitation; One person gets married; Train to paradise…
With cinema, My Uyen made a special mark through the character Uyen in the film Living in fear. This is also the first movie role that she took part in, causing sympathy and resonance with Korean audiences at the Busan Film Festival in 2006. Besides, she also occasionally leads theater troupes to perform far away. She is proud to be able to make a living from her profession and is often invited to perform in all types of roles, including film and television. However, she does not want to take on many roles or appear continuously on all channels to maintain her image. Being cautious in choosing roles is also the reason why many people say My Uyen is picky.
My Uyen has now had nearly 30 years of active work in the fields of film, television and theater. She was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State in 2012.

Famous as a talented actress, artist My Uyen is currently not at peace like her contemporaries. In an entertainment program, she revealed that she used to be afraid of getting married because of family tradition. My Uyen said, from her mother to her aunts, her parents were all “captured” by her parents. Because they do not want a forced marriage life without freedom, artists often avoid pairing and matchmaking. The female artist said that this made her form the habit of being independent and single.

At the age of 50, artist My Uyen once shared that she opened her heart and found love at first sight. She freely accepts love and is not bound by marriage. With an open mind, the female artist confidently affirmed that at the age of 70 she would still be willing to be a bride and wear a wedding dress if she found a suitable “half”.
Currently, artist My Uyen lives with her grandchildren. She doesn’t want to be a single mother. According to the female artist, if she has a child, the child must have a father. She wants to be with a responsible man who will raise her children with her. Artist My Uyen believes: “There is nothing sad about this life. It is already very happy, so having a child is not for fun.”
