This New CAS Plane Is Utterly Disgusting

War Thunder players utterly despise APHE CAS planes like the Yak-9K and for good reason. They can destroy tanks in just a few hits and aren’t hindered by ordnance. The new Me-210 Ca-1 might be even worse than the Yak as it has an APHE firing cannon at a very low battle rating and exceptional performance for a twin-engined fighter.

War Thunder Hates Japanese Tanks

Smaller tank tech trees in War Thunder tend to get the short end of the stick, and this is especially evident with France and Japan. In Japan’s case, the Type 4 Chi-To medium tank is more or less comparable to the German Panzer 4 tanks, but a full battle rating bracket higher. While it is a great tank and lots of fun, it often has to fight tanks like Tigers.

The Best IFV No One Plays

Infantry fighting vehicles in War Thunder can be very hit or miss, on one end you have insanely good IFVs like the BMPT and on the other you have mediocre ones like the M3A3 Bradley. The heavily underrated Japanese Type 89 is the former, in my opinion. The cannon hits hard and it gets HE missiles that can overpressure.

The Best German Tank Is Russian

The German tank tech tree in War Thunder gets a plethora of captured vehicles, but one of the best is the T-34 747 (r), which is a late model T-34 with additional armor slapped on to it. It’s an insanely good vehicle, as people don’t expect such a well armored German tank to appear.

German tank destroyers are infamous in War Thunder for being some of the best vehicles in the game, and the prototype VFW is more or less the epitome of that. It has the King Tiger’s cannon with a 4s reload at a low battle rating, but it’s open topped. This leads to players hating it and therefore bombing it with CAS planes incessantly.

This Artillery Tank Nukes Everything

Artillery tanks like the VIDAR have been quite popular in War Thunder as of late, but the premium Japanese Chi-Ha Short Gun was one of the first to be added. This low BR tank fires a very slow but massive HE round that absolutely evaporates any tank that it hits. That wasn’t always the case before overpressure was added as a mechanic.

The German Turm 3 prototype tank is one of the more egregiously overpowered vehicles in War Thunder, so I decided to nerf it a bit. Since it has the same 30mm APHE cannon as the Falcon, just as a secondary, I figured we could limit ourselves to using that as the primary.

Is The Falcon Bad Now?

35mm SPAA vehicles like the XM246 and ZA-35 are currently dominating War Thunder thanks to their APHE belts, and the WT devs have decided to fix this by going after 30mm SPAA like the British Falcon and French AMX 30 DCA. These anti-air vehicles also get APHE, but Gaijin removed their APDS. So it is a nerf, but it doesn’t do anything to address the actual problem.

War Thunder has its fair share of absolutely terrible tanks, but the Chinese ZTS63 might just take the cake for me. You’d think it’d be great since it has top tier features like a laser rangefinder and APFSDS at a battle rating of just 7.7 in realistic, but it is so terrible in all other respects that it is barely useable half the time.

This Heavy Tank Is A Demon

The M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo is one of the best US tanks in War Thunder, but the 76 Jumbo is sometimes overlooked. Though it sits at a battle rating of 6.3 and can often fight Cold War tanks, it is fairly good at taking out anything that comes its way thanks to having a stabilizer and fast reload rate.
