Account Migration and the Npay Payment Pipeline

The friction between gaming and payment is disappearing. Through a new transition to Naver Login Membership, Nexon users aged 14 and older can now link their existing game accounts to a Naver ID. This isn’t just a login shortcut; it’s a data bridge. Users keep their full gameplay records while gaining access to Naver Pay (Npay) for all in-game purchases.
Nexon is aggressively incentivizing this migration. Users who switch to a Naver ID by July 20 can claim a coupon pack for a game of their choice, including MapleStory, Dungeon & Fighter, or Mabinogi Mobile. To cement Npay as the primary transaction method, Nexon is offering 10% of the payment amount back as Npay points on first transactions, capped at 5,000 points.
The move serves both giants. Naver expands its payment reach into a massive gaming market, while Nexon secures a more secure, streamlined authentication system.
The N-Connect Strategy to Convert Viewers into Players

Watching a game is passive; playing it is active. Naver and Nexon are attempting to erase that line with N-CONNECT, a project designed to turn the Chzzk streaming platform into a direct acquisition funnel for Nexon games.
“aimed at expanding Nexon IP-based streaming content on Chzzk. The project is designed as a connection platform linking users, creators and games more closely together. Under the initiative, creators and viewers will receive rewards tied to three categories — activity, growth and impact — while streamers producing Nexon-related content will gain access to a dedicated”
The program operates via a tiered support system. Chzzk Partner, Pro, and Rookie streamers now have access to a dedicated “Content Support Center” to help them produce higher-quality Nexon game broadcasts. This infrastructure aims to create a feedback loop where streamer buzz drives viewers to log in and play.
The rollout follows a strict timeline:
FC Online and the World Cup Synergy

The most immediate application of this partnership is the FC Online content integration. Starting June 12, Chzzk desktop viewers watching soccer or FC Online broadcasts can play three minigames—including the Free Kick and Finesse Shot challenges—directly within the streaming interface.
Success in these minigames grants coupon codes delivered straight to the user’s Npay Inventory. This creates a tight loop: watch a pro, play a minigame, receive a reward, and enter the actual game.
This is a calculated play for the global sports calendar. Naver holds the broadcasting rights for the 2026 and 2030 FIFA World Cups. By linking these rights with Nexon’s sports IP, Naver can capture the massive surge of soccer fandom and funnel it directly into the FC Online ecosystem.
Data Integration and the Fight for Platform Dominance

Naver isn’t just providing a login; it’s building a personalized gaming profile. By combining Nexon’s gameplay history with Naver’s user data, the company is refining recommendations across Chzzk and its short-form platform, Clip.
The scale of this opportunity is evident in the numbers. Between January 2025 and March 2026, there were more than 550,000 Nexon-related streaming broadcasts on Chzzk. When paired with existing Nexon communities in Naver’s Game Lounges and online cafes, the potential for a closed-loop ecosystem is immense.
“Going forward, we will continue organically connecting Naver’s diverse services with Nexon’s game IP to provide differentiated content and benefits available only through Naver while further expanding the partnership,”
Jaehoo Lee, Head of Naver Entertainment Services
For Naver, this is a strategic land grab. By integrating the account, the payment, the community, and the broadcast, Naver is positioning itself as the indispensable hub for the Korean gaming experience. If a user logs in with Naver, pays with Naver, and watches on Naver, the platform owns the entire customer journey.
The next 30 days will be critical. With the June 12 launch of the FC Online minigames, the industry will see if this “watch-to-play” pipeline actually converts passive viewers into paying users at scale.
