Singer D4vd was arrested Thursday in Hollywood on suspicion of murder in the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose decomposed body was found in a Tesla registered to him last September.
David Anthony Burke, 21, known professionally as D4vd, was taken into custody shortly after 4:30 p.m. At a four-bedroom Hollywood home once owned by Sandra Bullock, according to law enforcement and property records. He surrendered after detectives with the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide and Gang and Narcotics divisions announced their presence and ordered him to come out.
Burke was booked at LAPD’s 77th Street jail and is being held without bail as the case moves toward potential charges. His attorneys, Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter, issued a joint statement maintaining his innocence and asserting that evidence will display he did not cause Hernandez’s death.
The Tesla in which Hernandez’s body was discovered was impounded on September 8, 2025, after parking officials first ticketed it as abandoned on August 27. A foul odor led investigators to the tow yard, where they found the severely decomposed remains of the girl, who had turned 15 the day before.

Detectives served a search warrant at Burke’s Doheny Drive residence on September 18, seizing electronics and computers. A memorial for Hernandez was held in Lake Elsinore on September 21, and in mid-November, the L.A. County district attorney convened a secret investigative grand jury to hear witness testimony.
The Bullock-owned home, located off Sunset Boulevard in a celebrity-dense area near Jimmy Kimmel’s residence, was listed for rent at $17,500 per month in September 2025 before the listing was removed last month. Bullock purchased the property in 2001 for $1.48 million and sold it in 2018 for $2.9 million.
No details about the evidence linking Burke to the killing have been released by authorities, and the autopsy findings remain sealed at the request of a LAPD detective. Hernandez had likely been dead for several weeks before her body was found, according to preliminary reports.

Why was D4vd arrested at Sandra Bullock’s former home?
He was reportedly staying at the property when LAPD detectives arrived with a warrant tied to the homicide investigation, though officials have not confirmed how long he had been residing there.

What happens next in the case against D4vd?
The LAPD will present the case to the L.A. County district attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration, after which prosecutors will decide whether to pursue formal charges.
