well this accident has now been confirmed uh by the government saying that uh the Iranian president Ibrahim REI has uh been involved in this accident involved in a helicopter with a what they’re calling rough Landing we understand that there are 16 rescue teams on that on their way to that uh site but have yet to reach there due to difficult weather conditions they’re accompanied by uh sniffer doogs we understand as well we don’t yet know whether there are any any injuries or the state of that helicopter and it follows reports from Iranian State tv that the helicopter carrying president REI had suffered a hard Landing so where did this happen well this was in Iran’s East aaban Province this effect effectively is in Northwest Iran and state TV had said this happened near Jola a city on the border with the nation of aan about 600 kilomet Northwest of the Iranian Capital Teran but we understand that rescue teams are being hampered by a number of weather conditions and just the Topography of the land things like heavy rain wind and fog and we can see those images there from that event that was happening REI had been in aaban to inaugurate a dam this is a dam that sits on the border with uh aaban he was alongside president ilam aliev um and this is a dam that is the third one that the two Nations have built on the Aras uh River and as I said before we don’t know the state of the helicopter yet we don’t know whether there are uh any injuries from this accident but we do know that Iran flies a variety of helicopters uh in the country but because of international sanctions uh that makes it difficult to obtain parts for them so we don’t yet know whether this had any role to play but as I say to summarize Iran’s president uh Ibraham REI was traveling in a helicopter which has suffered a rough Landing uh and we don’t yet know if there are any casualties from that accident Amelia live uh for on that uh breaking news thanks very much indeed well let me just bring you s another update that’s just come into us as Amelia was speaking and uh we understand Iran’s foreign Minister was also on board that uh helicopter when it experienced what is being described as a hard Landing Amir Abdullah Hanan among the passengers in the helicopter incident involving president Ibrahim REI so Ibrahim REI the president of Iran and the foreign minister are now reported to have been on board alongside others no doubt in that helicopter to
