Overview
Young Sherlock is a British mystery television series that reimagines the early life of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. The show follows a younger version of the character, portrayed as raw and unfiltered, during his first encounter with a murder case that puts his freedom at risk. This initial investigation leads him into a complex, globe-trotting conspiracy, marking a turning point in his life. Created by Peter Harness, Matthew Parkhill, and Guy Ritchie, the series draws inspiration from Andrew Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes book series, which itself is a pastiche of Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories. Guy Ritchie also directed two episodes of the series. The cast includes Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Dónal Finn, Natascha McElhone, and Zine Tseng. The term young, as defined by major dictionaries, refers to being in an early stage of life or development, which aligns with the series' focus on Holmes' formative years.
