Yell is a Japanese television drama series that serves as the 102nd installment in the NHK morning drama, or Asadora, franchise. The series premiered on March 30, 2020, and concluded its broadcast run on November 27, 2020. Directed by Teruyuki Yoshida, the show features a cast that includes Masataka Kubota, Fumi Nikaido, and Yuri Nakamura. The narrative depicts the life of a famous composer named Koyama Yuichi and his wife, Oto. The couple meets through music and subsequently works to overcome various hardships together. Set during the Showa Era, which spanned from 1926 to 1989, the story follows Yuichi as he composes songs that serve as messages of encouragement, or yells, for people throughout Japan during a time of radical societal change.
