Overview

Anpan is a Japanese television drama series that premiered in 2025 as the 112th Asadora production. The series follows the life of Nobu Asada, a character inspired by Nobu Komatsu, who was the wife of Takashi Yanase, the creator of Anpanman. Set during the Showa era in wartime Japan, the story depicts the evolution of the spirited Nobu from a schoolgirl influenced by militaristic ideology into the first female reporter in Kochi. Alongside her childhood friend Takashi, Nobu navigates the challenges of personal loss and the horrors of war as they search for their own truths amidst national upheaval. The drama consists of 130 episodes and aired from March 31, 2025, through September 26, 2025. The cast features Mio Imada, Takumi Kitamura, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Kanata Hosoda. This standard series follows the previous Asadora program, Omusubi, and focuses on the personal journey of its protagonist against the backdrop of a changing historical landscape.
