World Trigger 2014

Overview

World Trigger is a Japanese television series that first aired in 2014. The program is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Ashihara, which is also referred to in Japan by the abbreviation WorTri. The plot centers on a sudden event in Mikado City, where a gate to another world opens. From this portal, monsters known as Neighbors emerge to threaten the area. Conventional weapons from Earth are ineffective against these creatures. In response to this crisis, a mysterious group of warriors intervenes to combat the invaders. Among those involved in the defense of the city is an agent named Osamu Mikumo, who works for the Border Defense organization. The series features voice performances from actors including Yuki Kaji, Tomo Muranaka, Brian Doe Chua, and Nao Tamura. The narrative explores the ongoing conflict between the Border Defense agents and the Neighbor threat as they attempt to protect the population from the monsters emerging through the gate.
