Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a Japanese anime television series adaptation of a multimedia franchise created by Cygames. The series is set in a world where legendary race horses are reborn as horse girls, individuals who possess the ears and tails of horses along with exceptional speed and endurance. The narrative follows Special Week, a student who transfers from the countryside to Tokyo to attend Tracen Academy. Special Week aims to fulfill a promise to her mother by becoming the best horse girl in Japan. At the academy, she and her classmates train to compete in the Twinkle Series, hoping to achieve fame and fortune as both racers and idols.
