Ultraman Mebius is a Japanese television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting. Serving as the 17th television series in the long-running Ultra Series, the production commemorates the 40th anniversary of the franchise, which originally began in 1966. The show premiered on the Tokyo Broadcasting System on April 8, 2006. In a departure from the scheduling of the two preceding entries, Ultraman Nexus and Ultraman Max, this series was moved from a Saturday morning time slot to Saturday evenings at 05:30. The title Mebius is the Japanese approximation of Möbius, and the Möbius strip serves as a recurring motif throughout the series. The show later expanded its reach by airing in Korea in April 2012. As a milestone production for the studio, the series maintains the established traditions of the Ultra Series while functioning as a celebratory project for the franchise.
