Overview

The Work and the Glory III: A House Divided is a drama and western film released in the United States on November 22, 2006. Directed by Sterling Van Wagenen, the film stars Sam Hennings, Brenda Strong, Eric Johnson, and Alexander Carroll. In the story, Joshua Steed returns to Missouri as a wealthy man with a beautiful wife, finding that his time in Savanna has changed him from a rebellious alcoholic into a successful and established individual. However, his past soon catches up with him, entangling him in a web of rumors, deception, and betrayal that threatens to tear his family apart. Meanwhile, back in Kirtland, financial trouble riddles the foundations of the fledgling church, causing a division and leading people to question the divine calling of the Prophet Joseph Smith. As hundreds of saints immigrate to Missouri, Governor Boggs raises an army with Joshua at its head to address the local issues, leading up to when the militia receives orders to attack.
