The Thin Man is a television series that aired on NBC for two seasons between 1957 and 1959. The program is based on the popular series of MGM motion pictures released during the 1930s that originally starred William Powell and Myrna Loy. In this television adaptation, Peter Lawford and Phyllis Kirk portray the lead characters, Nick and Nora Charles. The premise follows Nick Charles, a former private detective who marries the wealthy Nora and attempts to settle down into a quiet life. Despite his intentions to leave his previous career behind, Nick finds that his past frequently catches up with him. Consequently, the couple becomes involved in a series of mysteries that disrupt their domestic life.
