Released on February 28, 1963, in Italy, the comedy film The Strange Type is directed by Lucio Fulci and runs for one hour and thirty minutes. The movie features musician Adriano Celentano starring as himself, arriving on vacation in a small town where he discovers everyone hates him. He soon learns that a local troublemaker and slow-witted villager named Peppino from the Italian resort town of Amalfi is his lookalike. Peppino is bribed to impersonate the famed rock and roll star for personal appearances and autographs. While Celentano attempts to romance Emanuela Mazzolani, the daughter of a well-to-do resident who disapproves of the union and views the man as a punk, Peppino remains unaware of the true nature of his impersonation job. Peppino must also deal with his girlfriend's newborn baby, which gets switched around between him and Celentano.
