The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis is an American sitcom that aired on the CBS network from September 29, 1959, to June 5, 1963. Created by Max Shulman, the series was adapted from his collection of short stories of the same name, which had previously served as the basis for a 1953 feature film titled The Affairs of Dobie Gillis. The program stars Dwayne Hickman in the title role, with Bob Denver appearing as his best friend, Maynard G. Krebs. Frank Faylen and Florida Friebus also appear in the cast. The narrative follows the life of Dobie Gillis, a young man who navigates the challenges of high school, college, the military, and his parents while scheming to attain money, fancy cars, and the attention of beautiful women.
