The Journey of Wugeng is a television series released in 2016. The narrative is set in ancient China during the final period of the Shang dynasty. The story follows Emperor Shou, who chooses to defy the will of the gods. He openly declares his intention to lead the people in a resistance against divine authority. During this conflict, Zi Shou engages in a battle against Tian Kui, though his efforts are met with derision from the gods observing the confrontation. Ultimately, Zi Shou is killed by a greater god named Tian, an event that results in the destruction of the Immortal Phoenix armor. Following these events, the character Wu Geng awakens in the body of a person named Ah Gou. Upon his awakening, Wu Geng discovers that he is married to a woman named Bai Cai. The series explores these events as they unfold against the backdrop of the conflict between humanity and the gods.
