Doris Day starred in the show, which premiered in September 1968. The series concluded its run in March 1973. In her autobiography, Doris Day revealed that her husband Martin Melcher had signed her to the TV series without her knowledge, a fact she discovered after his death from heart disease on April 20, 1968.
