Overview

The Creator is a 2023 American science fiction action film directed by Gareth Edwards, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Weitz. The film features a cast that includes John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Allison Janney, and Madeleine Yuna Voyles. Set in the year 2070, the story takes place fifteen years after artificial intelligence triggered a nuclear detonation, leading to a global war between the human race and forces of artificial intelligence. The plot follows a hardened ex-special forces agent who is grieving the disappearance of his wife. He is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, who is the elusive architect of advanced artificial intelligence. This architect has developed a mysterious weapon capable of ending the war and potentially destroying mankind. During his mission, the former soldier discovers that the secret weapon, intended to end the conflict, is an artificial intelligence in the form of a child.
