The Bomber is a film released on April 26, 2011, in the genres of action, war, drama, and romance, with a runtime of three hours and ten minutes. The Russian language title of the film is Ballada o Bombere. Set during World War II, the story follows a Soviet aircraft that crashes on Nazi-occupied territory. Pilot Grivtsov and his beloved radio operator Katya miraculously survive the crash. Another survivor is the flight navigator Linko, who had ejected from the plane before the crash. Each of the survivors must find their own way, perform military tasks, return to their own forces, and simply try to stay alive. The situation is further complicated by an act of sabotage that was committed before their take-off at the aerodrome, and the honest Grivtsov ends up on the bad side of a colonel of SMERSH by defending his friends. The film is directed by Vitaly Vorobyev and stars Nikita Efremov, Ekaterina Astakhova, and Vladislav Abashin.
