Overview

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a 1991 science fiction action film directed by James Cameron. The film serves as a sequel to the 1984 movie The Terminator. The cast features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and Robert Patrick. Ten years after the events of the original story, a reprogrammed T-800 cyborg is sent back in time to protect a young boy named John Connor. This T-800 is identical to the machine that previously attempted to assassinate Sarah Connor. John is targeted by a shape-shifting T-1000, which is an even more advanced and powerful cyborg sent by the non-human machine ruling elite of the future. Because John will eventually become the leader of the resistance against the machines, the T-1000 is dispatched to eliminate him. Together with his mother Sarah, John fights to stop Skynet from triggering a nuclear apocalypse. The film is recognized as part of a long-running sci-fi action franchise that began in 1984.
