Overview

Splice is a 2010 film centered on the professional and personal lives of two young scientists named Elsa and Clive. The pair works in a field of research that involves the manipulation of genetic material, specifically the splicing of human and animal DNA. Driven by a rebellious spirit, they choose to ignore both legal and ethical boundaries to conduct a dangerous experiment. This project results in the creation of a new organism they name Dren. As the creature matures, it undergoes a rapid transformation, evolving from a deformed female infant into a winged human-chimera. While the creature possesses a striking appearance, its development presents significant risks. Dren eventually forms a complex bond with both Elsa and Clive as she continues to grow.
