Overview
"Spartacus" is a historical epic film that tells the story of a Thracian slave. Born and raised a slave, this individual is sold to a trainer of gladiators. The trainer is named Batiatus. After being trained to fight in the arena, the slave turns on their owners and leads a rebellion. The rebels, consisting of escaped slaves, move from town to town, increasing in numbers as more slaves join their cause. Under the leadership of Spartacus, they make their way to southern Italy, where they plan to cross the sea and return to their homes. The film depicts the Thracian slave's journey as a leader of the rebellion against their Roman oppressors.
