Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary is a 2024 anime television series created by Honobu Yonezawa. The series follows Jôgorô Kobato, a student who, after enduring a difficult experience referred to as "wisdom work," resolves to lead a quiet and unremarkable life. Alongside his classmate Osanai, who shares the same goal, Kobato forms a pact to remain ordinary upon entering high school. However, their plans are repeatedly disrupted by strange and unexplained incidents that seem to follow them. The series explores their attempts to maintain a peaceful, low-profile existence despite these ongoing disruptions. It is based on the Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken and Kaki Gentei Tropical Parfait Jiken stories, with an additional short story from the Pari Makaron no Nazo collection adapted into the series. Voice actors include Shûichirô Umeda, Hina Yomiya, Makoto Furukawa, and Teppei Uenishi. The show was announced in early 2024 and became available that same year.
