Overview

Shadows House is an anime television series adaptation that first aired in 2021. The narrative focuses on a faceless clan that resides within a large mansion, where they masquerade as nobles. These individuals are attended to by living dolls who are tasked with cleaning the dirt left behind by the tenants. The series follows a young, cheerful living doll who begins serving her shadow mistress. As the two characters bond, the living doll discovers that the reality of their situation is not what it initially appears to be. A deeper mystery exists within the residence, and the secret of the house is eventually unveiled. Produced by CloverWorks, the first season consisted of 13 episodes and aired from April to July 2021. A second season, comprised of 12 episodes, was subsequently greenlit and premiered on July 9, 2022, running until September of that same year. The series explores the complex relationship between the shadows and their caretakers within the confines of their mysterious home.
