Sale of the Century was an Australian game show that broadcast on the Nine Network from 14 July 1980 until 29 November 2001. The program featured a format similar to the earlier game show Temptation, which had aired from 1970 to 1976. Tony Barber served as the initial host of Sale of the Century for more than ten years before being succeeded by Glenn Ridge in 1991. Throughout its long run, the show employed several hostesses, including Victoria Nicholls, Delvene Delaney, Alyce Platt, Jo Bailey, Nicky Buckley, and Karina Brown. Pete Smith acted as the announcer for the majority of the series. Ron Neate served as the announcer for the first ten episodes of the program in 1980 before Smith took over the role. The series remained a fixture of Australian television for over two decades, maintaining consistent production roles and personnel changes as the show progressed from its inception in the early 1980s through its final broadcast in late 2001.
