Romance on the Orient Express is a British romantic drama television film released in the year 1985 and directed by Lawrence Gordon Clark. The film features a cast that includes Cheryl Ladd, Stuart Wilson, John Gielgud, and Ruby Wax. In the story, an American woman named Lily is travelling on the famous Orient Express train from Venice, Italy to Paris, France. During her journey, she suddenly runs into her former lover, Alex. The two had shared a tender romance ten years earlier while vacationing in France, but their relationship ended abruptly when Alex walked out on Lily without saying a word. Now, Alex attempts to make up for lost time with Lily. Meanwhile, Lily digs into Alex's past in order to find out what haunting secrets he has that led to their abrupt break-up. The television film premiered in the United States on NBC on March 4, 1985, and later aired in the United Kingdom on ITV on November 17, 1985.
