Primal 2019

Overview

Primal is a 2019 film centered on a big-game hunter who secures passage on a Greek shipping freighter to transport a collection of exotic and deadly animals from the Amazon. Among the cargo is a rare white jaguar intended for zoo acquisition. The vessel also carries a political assassin who is being extradited to the United States in secret. The narrative shifts when the journey reaches its second day. At this point, the assassin manages to escape from custody. Following this breakout, the prisoner releases the captive animals from their enclosures. This action plunges the entire ship into a state of chaos as the crew and passengers must contend with the liberated predators and the fugitive. The film explores the resulting conflict as the hunter and others on board face the dual threat of the dangerous animals and the assassin loose within the confines of the freighter. The story concludes as the situation on the ship deteriorates following the release of the exotic haul.
