Por Estas Calles is a Venezuelan telenovela produced by Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) that aired from 3 June 1992 until 30 August 1994. The series quickly became one of the nation’s most popular television programs, noted for its gritty, realistic portrayal of everyday life in Venezuela. Unlike earlier melodramas, the show deliberately focused on contemporary social issues, depicting the conditions of poor neighbourhoods (barrios) and incorporating scenes that reflected the everyday challenges faced by residents, such as intermittent water supply and community meetings.
