Overview
The film Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction is set in the underground Diamond Domain, where the Mythical Pokémon Diancie serves as ruler. The Diamond Domain is home to many Carbink and is sustained by the Heart Diamond. However, the Heart Diamond is beginning to fall apart and Diancie is not yet strong enough to create a new one. Diancie seeks help from the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas. In the process, a group of thieves are encountered who want to take control of Diancie's diamond-producing power and they awaken the Legendary Pokémon Yveltal from its cocoon. Ash and his friends become involved and help Diancie, with the goal of stopping Yveltal's rampage and saving the Diamond Domain. The story involves the interactions between Diancie, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Ash and his friends as they work together to address the challenges facing the Diamond Domain.
