Planet Deutschland - 300 Millionen Jahre 2014

Overview

Planet Deutschland - 300 Millionen Jahre is a documentary film released on February 10, 2014, in Germany. The documentary tells the story of Germany's origins from the Carboniferous period to the present day. The film leads viewers from the highest Alpine peaks to the rugged North Sea coasts, as well as from the craters of the Eifel to the river labyrinth of the Spreewald. The narrative explores the region's history beginning around 300 million years ago when giant dragonflies buzzed through dozens of meter-high fern forests. As the documentary progresses through the course of Earth's history, it encounters dying dinosaurs, meets rhinoceroses and elephants on the Rhine, and comes across what is probably the first human in Heidelberg. Later in the timeline, the Neanderthals appear. The project's cast and crew information includes Stefan Schneider.
