Overview

Ox Tales is an animated comedy television series that aired from 1987 to 1991. Also known as The Tales of Boes Gang or Geragera Būsu Monogatari, the program was a co-production between Japan and the Netherlands. The series was produced by Telecable Benelux B.V. in association with Saban Entertainment and animated by Telescreen Japan. It is based on the comic strip Boes. The narrative follows the adventures of Ollie the Ox, who manages The Funny Farm alongside his best friend, Jack the Turtle. The farm is depicted as containing a wide variety of creatures, and the stories are presented through the perspective of a sarcastic Toucan narrator. The characters work together to keep the farm operational on their own. The show features a cast that includes voice actors such as Guido Jonckers, Gerry Middelburg, Piero Tiberi, and Akira Kamiya. The series is recognized as an anime production that explores the daily lives and outrageous experiences of Ollie and his diverse group of animal companions.
