Overview

One Piece is a Japanese anime television series that premiered in October 1999 on Fuji Television and its FNS affiliates. Produced by Toei Animation, the show is based on the 1997 manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who gains the properties of rubber after consuming a Devil Fruit. Inspired by his idol, the pirate Shanks, Luffy decides to embark on a journey to find the legendary treasure known as the One Piece. By claiming this treasure, he aims to succeed the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and earn the title for himself. To achieve this goal, Luffy forms a crew known as the Straw Hat Pirates, consisting of skilled fighters and thieves.
