Northern Exposure is an American comedy-drama television series that originally aired on CBS. The program ran from July 12, 1990, to July 26, 1995, and consists of 110 episodes. Created by Joshua Brand and John Falsey, the show features actors Rob Morrow, Janine Turner, Barry Corbin, and John Cullum. The plot follows a recent Columbia University medical school graduate who, after receiving a scholarship from the state, is required to set up his practice in a remote Alaskan town. Upon arriving in the town of Cicely, the city doctor must adjust to life in a new environment while encountering a variety of peculiar local residents. Among these individuals is a former astronaut. The series focuses on the protagonist's experiences as he navigates his professional obligations and the eccentric nature of the community he has been sent to serve.
