The television series NCIS focuses on the Major Case Response Team of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as they investigate criminal cases connected to United States Navy and Marines Corps personnel and their families. The long-running program covers cases ranging from murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines.

In season twenty-two, episode twelve, titled Fun and Games, the NCIS team investigates the fatal poisoning of one of Kasie's forensic scientists.

Throughout its long-running broadcasting history, the series has featured various cast members and recurring actors who eventually became series regulars, including Sean Murray and Brian Dietzen, as well as Rocky Carroll, who joined the show in season five. The overarching narrative continues to follow the operations of the special agents as they handle high-stakes criminal investigations.
