Overview

Money Heist, originally titled La casa de papel, is a Spanish heist crime drama television series created by Álex Pina. The series follows two long-prepared heists led by a criminal mastermind known as The Professor, who is portrayed by Álvaro Morte. To execute the first robbery, The Professor recruits a group of eight individuals who have nothing to lose. The team spends five months in seclusion memorizing every detail and probability before attempting to steal 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain. During this operation, the group takes hostages and locks themselves inside the facility for eleven days while surrounded by police forces. The narrative explores the Professor’s efforts to manipulate the police to ensure the success of his plan. In addition to the Royal Mint of Spain, the series traces a second heist involving the Bank of Spain. The cast features actors including Úrsula Corberó, Itziar Ituño, and Pedro Alonso. The show originally premiered in 2017 and concluded in 2021.
